Back home! Well, technically, I got in Monday afternoon, but I needed to get back on Japan time.

And I got back just in time for my second round of exams. I have a meeting with a couple of my professors later today to show them the work I've done while I've been gone. I didn't fill as many sketchbooks as I did while in Paris, but it's still a good amount. The Poison Garden accounted for quite a bit of one. Thankfully I'll have some time after exams and before I leave for New York to finish a few landscape paintings. I've already completed some rough outlines, so once they're reviewed and I get approval, I'll be able to start on them.

I'm not that disappointed in my quarterfinal exit at Wimbledon. I didn't train as much on grass before the tournament as I did playing on clay before the French. I have a bit more time for hard court training before the US Open, so I think, depending on my draw, I should get to at least the quarterfinals again.

Exams weren’t as much a factor in my choice not to attend wimbledon, but I can’t imagine returning straight into the exam crunch to be entirely pleasant.

I won’t be around much as I’ve plans to leave as soon as my exams end, but naturally I’ll be seeing you in New York for the US Open, Yukimura-kun.

If I came home right after I lost, it might have been better, but then I would have missed out on high tea with An-chan. In the end, it'll be fine. My professors are absolutely wonderful and understanding. I'm just glad it wasn't my sculpture section or I think I'd be in a different mood.

Of course. Would you like to come out to dinner one night? My treat. I'll be dragging Akaya with me as well and Renji if he comes along for the tournament.

There are certainly worse people to spend time with abroad than Tachibana An-kun. My own teachers are a little less lenient about my missing classes, but they seem to be coming around now that they have realized I am willing to catch up on missed theory without a fuss. That said, I wouldn't have wanted to miss my textile printing classes the past semester where not necessary, so I do understand what you mean.

I'll have Kai-kun with me, so I will check in with him to see if he'd be interested.

You did well - Wimbledon had a few strange upsets. Grass is very unpredictable. ☆

I don't mind sharing at all. Once I finish something that isn't a figure sketch, I'll show it to you.

There were a few that shocked me, but some helped me get to the quarters, so I'm not complaining. Grass is my least favorite court for that very reason.

It takes me a bit too. Especially on the longer flights.

Landscapes as that's my focus this term, but I find them to be relaxing since I don't have to worry about showing movement unless I want to.

I should hope you would watch my matches. I'd be pretty upset if you slept through them when you're in New York with me.
